Communication planning

Research, develop, and implement strategic communication plans by request
Identify problems and opportunities to solve them with communications plans by documenting staff pain points and listening carefully to audience feedback
Implement plans across web, intranet, print, newspaper, social media, and email newsletters
Plan and write content for internal communication initiatives using SharePoint
Improve accessibility through design and channel improvements

The Public Works public education strategic communication plan, including products such as the Your Utility Dollars brochure, Wishcycling, Your Drinking Water regular campaigns
The Public Works sustainable water strategic communication plan, including products such as the engagement webpage and the Your Water brochure. View some of the successful results of the water sustainability education strategy
The long term strategic communication plan for annual budget public engagement including products such as the Budget Brochure, survey, and engagement website, and
The Public Works boil water crisis communication plan (significantly reduced calls during water advisories)

Engagement

Translate complex project information into plain language
Write easy to understand, audience-focused surveys to achieve strategic goals and avoid bias
Use qualitative audience data to inform survey design

Grant Production Testing Oilfield Safety Training

Goal: to increase safe work practices by meeting industry standards and increasing retention of training
Created interactive modules
Recorded and edited narrations
Took instructional photographs of equipment and procedures
Designed custom illustrations
Packaged for deployment on CD
Ensured conformity to industry standards (Enform IRP 18) and manufacturer's documentation
To ensure that employees did not skip through the content, the module was designed so that the forward navigation controls only appeared after the narration of each slide was complete
Designed quiz/exam questions to encourage thoughtful participation
To increase retention, I embedded an interactive quiz within the presentation. I also created a paper-based, hand-in final exam and answer key
